What Phones Are Compatible With DJI Mavic Mini
So you have either purchased yourself an awesome DJI Mavic Mini, DJI Mavic Mini 2, or one of the most recent DJI Mavic Series drones and need to find out what phones are compatible with DJI Mavic Series? Well, you are at the right place because I will go in-depth for you to give you a good idea of what to look for and what to avoid.

Where Can I Download the DJI Fly App
Before taking off on your first flight with your Mavic Mini you must download the DJI Fly app.
You can download the DJI Fly app for both android and iOS devices directly from the DJI website. Download Link Here
Note: You cannot download the DJI Fly app through the Google PlayStore. The only way to download the DJI Fly app is through the official DJI website.
What is The DJI Fly App
The DJI Fly App is an incredible tool that allows you to capture amazing photos and videos that you can download from your SD card and edit on your phone.
The DJI Fly app is used for the Mavic Mini, Mavic Mini 2, Mavic Mini SE, Mavic Air 2, DJI Air 2s, DJI FPV, and the DJI Mavic 3 drones.
The app has so many functions. Some of those include photo and video editing, navigating so you can see where you are flying, a live location time map of where you are flying, auto and manual exposures for taking photos, no-fly zones, and several flight modes that you can choose from (Sports mode, Cinematic mode, and Position mode), set your return to home parameters, altitude settings, live battery level for your drone, several quick shot modes for insane recordings (rocket, dronie, circle and helix modes), find my drone, calibrating settings, and a lot more!!
The DJI app is one of the most useful drone apps that I have come across and totally love using it!!
Does The DJI Fly App Work With Android Phones
Yes, but the DJI Fly App requires your phone to be Android 6.0 or above and runs a 64-bit Android operating system. Those that run on a 32-bit Android operating system run into compatibility issues.
How to Check if Your Phone or Tablet is running 32-bit or 64-bit
If you are not sure if your android phone is running 64-bit or 32-bit, you can download an app on your phone to check which bit your phone is running.
One of the most popular apps to check if your phone is running 32-bit or 64-bit is CPU-Z. CPU-Z is easy to install and very easy to use to determine exactly which bit you are running. (Click here to download CPU-Z directly from Google Playstore).
Below is a quick video to show you how to use CPU-Z.
Does The DJI Fly App Work With Apple iOS Devices
If you are using an iOS device, it must be running iOS 11.0 or above.
How to Check What Version of iOS Your Apple Device is Running
Simply go to Settings > General > About. Once you are on the ‘About’ page, look down at the ‘Version’ section. This will tell you what version of iOS your device is running on.
If you are running an earlier version than 11.0, you can easily update the version depending on how old your Apple device is.
How Can I Upgrade my Apple Devices iOS Version?
Simply go to Settings > General > Software Update. Your Apple device will automatically check if there is an updated iOS version for your device.
If there is an update available for your device, simply just click on ‘Download and Install’, and that’s it, you will have the latest version.

My redundant Samsung Galaxy A3 may have a new job to fit into the controller of the potential purchase DJI Mini 2. I believe it to be a 64 bit phone using Android 6.0.
What do you think?
The Samsung Galaxy A3 is a fairly old phone now. You could give it a try, but if you are spending a decent amount on a Mini 2, I’d recommend getting a phone that you know is compatible to avoid disappointment.
Let us know how you go, and all the best with the DJI Mini 2!
I am the Mad Purchaser. I agonized over spending $600 for the mini 2 More Fly from Amazon. I thought I’d done the homework on my LG Premier Pro LTE. And that it was compatible. I just received my mini 2 this morning and after talking with an agent it’s not compatible. I am now left with sending it back or trying to find an absolute phone that works. I can’t buy another phone that doesn’t work. smh There’s all these new updates from DJI. You can’t, it seems, download the correct one now from Google Play. You have to go to a downloads on the DJI website. And, hope you can work through getting your phone to install and APK. It’s just more than frustrating after looking and searching so long to get this one. I need an absolute phone that will work $100 or less. If not, it’s going back for another one I almost bought, half the price but of course not the rep of the mini 2. smh If you know of a phone you could recommend and point me I’d be indebted! ty “:-[[
there are list of compatible phone with your DJI DRONE…mostly used are SAMSUNG, HUAWEI, iPHONES, OPPO
Being flying with no problems whatsoever and very smoothly with a Samsung A22, which is not in the DJI FLY app compatibility list. The A20 used to be in it, but since the last update, it is anymore. Go figure, the A22 is 64-bit, but a fairly basic device.
Ahoj mám A20 a aplikace mi nejde 😔😔
I have a Motorola G9 Plus which is 64bit and running Android 10. I have downloaded the DJI Fly App and installed OK . Will this phone be OK for a DJI Mini 2 ?? Need to know before I buy . Can anyone help /Advise.
Been onto DJI but they will only recommend the phones they’ve tested and I don’t want to have to buy another phone !
As long as you have installed the app ok, everything should work fine.
if you go to DJI store, try your phone on their DJI trial unit…i think your phone will be compatible with the DJI…
I have a Google Pixel 3a XL. The app worked through the summer, then my phone updated itself and now it will not load.
Is this going to be resolved anytime soon?
My son needs a phone that is compatible and I am looking at the Galaxy A52 5G. I am clueless when it comes to these thing, will this one work with his drone/app?
Hi Kim, the Samsung Galaxy A52 isn’t on DJI’s compatibility list. I would play it safe and get a phone that DJI recommend for the Mavic Mini.
Thanks for the comment and hope your son has fun with his drone!
Hi has anyone used a One Plus 8T with the DJI mini Mavic 2? Thanks Simon
You can add the Cricket Dream to the list. Got it today and works perfect and the phone was only $99.
Will my straight talk tcl work ?
Will my old Nvidia Shield tablet be compatible by any chance?
Bit big maybe so might need the adapter if it is compatible!!
If it is android version 6.0 or above and 64 bit it may work but can’t guarantee that it will. If it doesn’t work, the phones listed above will work. Let us know how you go and if it works I’ll add it to the list.
I tried 4 of my devices before the last one finally downloaded the
fly app. Unfortunately when I connected it to the Mini 2 there was no video and the app kept disconnecting every few seconds. So it appears that just because the fly app installs it doesn’t mean it will work with the quad. It seems that DJI has designed this app to only work reliably on the more expensive devices.
When I try to download the DJI FLY app and go to the app store, all I see are DJI Go 4, DJI Pilot and DJI Go. I have a 64 bit Samsun Galaxy S8. Why can’t I see DJI Fly?
Hi Ron,
You need to go to the actual DJI website to download it – dji.com
Hope that helps.
I have an LG Rebel 4 that has Android 8.0 and 64 bit but the DJI Fly app will not install. I’ve scanned the QR code from the DJI website and after it attempts to install, it says App did not load.
Is techno camon 12 good for the fly
hi everybody,
i am about to buy a DJI mavic mini, but i would like to know if i can also work the app in my OPPO Find X3 pro .
is there anybody that can provide me with an answer ?
Hi I have the Samsung galaxy a 51 and I’m having trouble getting the app for the mini se can anyone help
Have you tried downloading it from the official DJI website?
why wouldnt DJI tell me before I purchased the drone that there were some phones that would not work. My Hawaii (whatever) phone is 64 bit, android 10 but a P30 lite. The “lite” must be similar to foods defined this way, NFG. Now I need to spend 1000.00 or wait 2.5 years to get a compatible phone. Anyone want to buy a brand new mavic mini!
I can’t install the app on my Samsung note 8. Can anyone help plz? Thanks
Hi, I would like to upgrade my phone to the new Samsung S22 ultra from my current note 9, does anyone know if the dji fly app is compatible? my drone is the mavic air 2. Many thanks in advance 👍
I got my S22 ultra, works like a charm. Although I have a new issue where 4k 30 freezes the live view. 4k 24 does not so I’m a little confused. Other than that, smashing!
Are Xiaomi Mi 11t compatible with DJI fly app.. anyone help me please..I have connections issue

as to why this is happening or which device will work for mavic air 2.

Have you tried downloading through this link? https://www.dji.com/au/mobile/mavic-air-2/downloads
Does magic mini work with Samsung s22 plus? When we go to the DJI website wants us to download a APK?
Hi Amber,
Yes, Samsung S22 Plus is compatible.
The APK is the DJI app Android file that you need to download and install on your phone.
I’m looking at getting a DJI Mini or DJI Mini SE for my soon to be 8 year old son for his birthday.
Does anyone know if he can use an iPod Touch with these drones; or does it have to be a “phone”?
I just bought a samsung A52 S and my Mavic Mini no longer works! The old phone is broken! Is it possible to solve the problem?
For sony xperia XA2 i just stsrted using Litchi for about 25€ and it works fine.
